Spotlight and mic, jitters, stage fright,
We had it all one Friday night,
Words on a stage,
Read from a page,
All for the few,
How good! Who knew,
What to expect,
But what the heck,
For a good cause,
Gathered applause,
And let fly the flow of power,
They knew not they had 'til that hour.
Modern minstrels came to present,
With musical accompaniment,
A bit of soul,
A piece of whole,
Something of what,
Makes their hearts strut,
Up on display,
What would you say?
Evil moms, hand meat, open “sores”,
Jesus' fav's birth, so much more(s),
The show now o'er and echoes died,
Memories remain, well deserved pride,
Separates strewn,
A whole so sweet,
And now complete,
Each played a part,
And stole our heart,
And by the ends,
We felt like friends,
They'd done good and though they're spent,
From where I sat, t'was EXCELLENT!
