The Test

On the cusp, under the gun,
Parry the thrust, break into run,
The motions continue,
The knowings within you,
Burst at the seams to get out,
Start with screams, then a shout,
Chaos controlled just thusly,
Trying to hold thus justly,
Seeming to achieve,
If you can believe,
Peace of mind,
Just in time.

Tear the air, wipe at the brow,
Pull the hair, no time left now,
The test finally at hand,
Will you teeter or stand?
No time now, all press in,
Take that bow and begin,
What will, will be, honestly,
What will be, will, then you'll see,
The merit in the cause,
The boo, hiss or applause,
Pretense ends,
It begins.
