I study hard but it won't sink in,
I fall behind as despairs begin,
I would press on and try to pretend,
But that would be absurd.
The world keeps spinning on at a clip,
So out of control you'd dare not slip,
You wouldn't be missed, barely a blip,
Nary a sound'd be heard.
So by my nails I cling to the wall,
Climb ever higher, try not to fall,
And if I make it, what of it all?
What reward'd be conferred?
Solace in poetry is what I seek,
As rewards go this one's pretty weak,
Go ahead laugh and call me a geek,
Poetry spewing nerd.
But in the end what make a difference?
We are all weird so try tolerance,
Take up the tune and join in the dance,
Your heart just may be stirred.
