Wise Old Sage

Here are the musings of a mind a bit off kilter from the norm,
but, that's what makes him interesting. Doesn't it?

Passing The Day Away

posted Friday, 21 April 2006
Look up, just in time to realize,
The day that's passing before your eyes,
Is one to remember, one to note,
Awash in memories, heart in your throat,
The end is near, no time to regret,
Freeze the moment, try not to forget,
What was once, though now gone, still remains,
If but you remember and retain,
In times to come, in silent repose,
Good times remain, this one among those,
A smile and warm feelings overwhelm,
Solace, good spirit girding the realm,
'Cause you've retained a jewel of a day,
Kept the worthwhile from passing away.

Thanks, Tragic.

It's a poem that just came to me as I was sitting in the bakery/coffee shop for the last time waiting for my small class on Telecommunications Law to gather. We've been having occasional class meetings there and the fact of it being the last time to gather with this little group for lively discussion of the subject matter in a real place instead of a classroom made me want to memorialize the day.

The result you see. I'm glad you liked it.
